On Monday, June 16, 2025, the Inter-University Exchange Project (U.S. and Others) TP-Bridge Program conducted a TUFS study tour for San Diego State University (SDSU) students.

The TP-Bridge Program aims to cultivate “bridge persons” who connect the Pacific by collaborating with partner universities in the U.S., the Philippines, and South Korea to implement various programs. This program aims to deepen mutual understanding of international cultures through student exchanges and hands-on experiences.

Participants included Professor Eva Nicasio Mercier, 17 students, and one staff member from SDSU, a partner institution of the TP-Bridge Program. The group attended Lecturer Hiroki Ichinose's class, “Understanding Contemporary Japan 1 (Japanese Society and Culture),” where they listened to a lecture on Japanese culture and then had a discussion with TUFS students. Afterward, they had lunch together at the campus cafeteria, where Japanese and American students had a chance to get to know each other better.

In the afternoon, they took a tour of the campus and visited TUFS facilities.
